President Trump has nominated Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the United States Supreme Court, so this has a lot of people raising the question: who is she?

Amy Coney Barrett is a judge who went to Notre Dame Law School. She is a mom of 7, and a women of Catholic faith. Two of her children are adopted from Haiti, and one has Down Syndrome.

Barrett currently serves on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. On September 26th, 2020, Judge Barrett was nominated to the United States Supreme Court by President Trump. She was nominated to replace Judge Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who died on September 18th of the same year. Now, let's look at her judicial record.

According to the New York Times, "Judge Amy Coney Barrett, President Trump’s pick for the Supreme Court, has compiled an almost uniformly conservative voting record in cases touching on abortion, gun rights, discrimination and immigration. If she is confirmed, she would move the court slightly but firmly to the right, making compromise less likely and putting at risk the right to abortion established in Roe v. Wade." Many people on both sides of the political spectrum say that she will be a champion for the right if her nomination in the Senate gets passed.
